Rehearsals aren’t just about perfecting the notes, they’re about the shared moments in between. What a full rehearsal it was! We laughed, shed a few tears, and let the music weave us closer together. Every voice carried not just melody, but heart; a reminder that behind every performance lies a chorus of love, community, and joy.
This week, the Asheville Senior Chorus gathered for one of our most spirited rehearsals yet as we prepare for our upcoming concert, Magical Moments: The Music of Dave Bates. The energy in the room was electric. From the first warm-up to the final chord, you could feel the emotion rising, a mix of excitement, pride, and gratitude for the music we get to share.
Dave Bates’ compositions hold a special place in our hearts. His music captures the essence of storytelling through song; tender, joyful, and deeply human. As we rehearsed his pieces, some of us found ourselves moved to tears, remembering the people and memories that music can bring rushing back. Others couldn’t help but smile, swept up in the harmonies and laughter that filled the room.
There’s something profoundly magical about singing together, about voices blending into something greater than any one of us could create alone. That’s what Magical Moments: The Music of Dave Bates is all about celebrating connection, memory, and the power of music to touch the soul.
We can’t wait to share these songs with you. Join us for an evening that promises laughter, reflection, and plenty of heartfelt music, a true celebration of life’s most meaningful moments.
Cheers to the music that brings us together!
